MUSCULAR SYSTEM

Muscles are at the core of our body and participate in many functions.

There are three main categories of muscles:

  • muscles that are voluntarily controlled, such as biceps or triceps
  • smooth muscles, which have an involuntary but essential movement, such as the stomach or arteries that circulate the blood without any particular effort
  • the heart muscle, which has its own contraction system

Voluntarily or not, the muscles contract through signals, particularly chemical, which require special nutrients.
